September 17, 2003 - Alameda Power & Telecom announces the launch of a unique new web site focused on its public, educational, and government access channels. Under the umbrella, Alameda TV - Television Close to Home, our community has convenient access to the many benefits offered by the three channels and the system on which they are offered. This new site, www.alamedatv.org, launches this Friday, September 19, and includes:
Public Access Channel 31 provides cable television public and community programming produced or sponsored by Alameda residents and organizations. Government Access Channel 15 carries local government programming made available by City of Alameda. Educational Access Channel 33 will offer educational programming sponsored or produced by the Alameda Unified School District and other educational institutions. Also, new programs soon will be featured on an expanded Channel 31 schedule. Beginning on Tuesday evening, October 7, "East Bay Parks", "Smart Healthy Babies - The First Five Years", "Electric Views", and "Cinema Alameda" will be added to the lineup. Later this fall, Alameda TV will present the world premiere of "PlayBall! - Alameda's Sandlot Saga". The two-part series begins in the year 1956 and paints a fascinating portrait of joy, dedication, and accomplishment that made playing baseball in Alameda an unforgettable experience. Alameda Power & Telecom is the municipal power and telecommunications provider serving the City of Alameda, California. More information is available via both www alamedatv.org and www.alamedapt.com.
