Thursday, July 21, 2005 — Alameda Power & Telecom has announced that, commencing Thursday afternoon, it will present encore cablecasts of two popular Wednesday evening programs throughout the coming weekend and into Monday.

As a result of technical difficulties, the audio signal of The Don Roberts Show, cablecast at 6:30 p.m., and Star Rover, cablecast at 7:00 p.m., was not transmitted. Alameda Power & Telecom had been conducting Federal Communications Commission required "Proof of Performance" testing on its system. Upon completion of the testing, the audio modulator associated with Public Access Channel 31 did not reactivate.

"We appreciate that both of these shows have very loyal and involved viewers," said Marketing and Customer Services Manager Bill Garvine. "And we do apologize for this circumstance. Of course we want to fulfill the spirit of our commitment to the producers and their audiences."

The encore cablecasts will begin with The Don Roberts Show shown at noon, 1:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, followed by Star Rover at 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. Cablecasting will continue on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with The Don Roberts Show shown at noon, 1:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 9:00 p.m., followed by Star Rover at 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 8:00 p.m.

"We very much appreciate the patience of those who work on and who watch this programming," Garvine continued. "One of the major benefits of our municipal system is that it provides a forum for discussion of matters of consequence to our community."

Alamedans can access The Don Roberts Show, Star Rover, and other great local programming by calling 748-3930 and subscribing to Alameda Power & Telecom cable television.
