Beginning a Dialogue

In Census 2000, 6.8 million people reported being mixed race.
Mixed-race individuals represent a powerful and energizing diversity in today’s society and our community.

The In the Mix Conference in 2006 in Alameda, California was a celebration of mixed heritage individuals and families that began a dialogue about the rich variety of mixed race experience, and how the community can offer support, visibility and validation.

This film was created to continue that dialogue.
