The Holiday Spirit and then Some...It's the time of year for holiday shows on TV. And once again Alameda Power & Telecom adds its original production to this hallowed broadcasting tradition. From December 23nd through the 25th, you'll have the opportunity to catch the double fun of the unique special hosted by Vicki Vampyr, Alameda's Ghouly Girl of the Midnight Hour, plus the "classic" Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. The Special Is Music, Cartoons and Culinary Ideas!Yes, it's time to celebrate this special time of year with seasonal songs, vintage cartoons, culinary thoughts and a condensed (to the extreme) version of Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol. There are also wonderful guests - Kelly Park, Reid Whatley, Edison J. Nello, and straight from the North Pole of Alameda - Alfie McElfie. The Yule Log - A TV TraditionA roaring fireplace on TV. It's an ancient tradition that has it origins at a local New York City station – WPIX – back in the 1960s. Since fireplaces were not exactly commonplace in the great metropolis, a producer came up with the idea of transforming the 20th century version of the family hearth into its actual counterpart. A camera on a fireplace backed by holiday music became an immediate hit "show." Other stations around the country became converts and the tradition spread. Alameda TV Ch. 31 is proud to continue in the fiery footsteps of its media forebearers. Channel 31's Yule Log has something very special going for it. You'll have to tune in to find out why it's so unique. Extreme FestivitiesSo, gather the kiddies, light the festive candles, turn on the TV, grab a candy cane and tune into Channel 31. The Schedule
